Example of Simple Strategy

Action: Make a $15 pass-line wager just before a new come-out.
Come-out roll is a 3. This is craps, so the hand is over and all pass bets lose. You lose $15.
Action: Make another $15 pass-line wager.
Come-out roll is a 9. A point of 9 is established.
Action: Take $16 odds on your pass bet. (Because the point is 9, your single odds bet should be an even number.)
First point phase roll is a 5. The pass bets are unaffected.
Second point roll is a 3. Although this is online casino craps, the pass bets are unaffected.
Third point roll is a 9. The shooter made her point, the hand is over, and the pass bets win. You win $15 on your pass bet plus $24 on the odds portion (which paid 3 to 2), for a total of $39. Your net gain is now $39 - $15 $24.
Action: Make a $15 pass-line wager.
Come-out roll is a 7. This is a pass, so the hand is over, and all pass bets win. You win $15 on your pass bet and your net gain is $39.
Action: Make another $15 pass-line wager.
Come-out roll is a 4. A point of 4 is established.
Action: Take single odds of $15 on your pass bet.
First point roll is a 10. The pass bets are unaffected.
Second point roll is a 4. The shooter made her point, the hand is over, and the pass bets win. You win $15 on your pass bet plus $30 on the odds portion (which paid 2 to 1), for a total of $45. Your net gain is $84.
Action: Make a $15 pass-line wager.
Come-out roll is a 6. A point of 6 is established.
Action: You are $84 ahead, so you take double odds of $30 on your pass bet.
First point roll is a 7. This is a seven-out, so all pass bets lose, and the shooter loses possession of the dice. You lose $45 on your pass bet and odds.
Action: You are down to a net gain of $39. Continue making pass bets, but cut back to single odds. If the new shooter is also a loser, quit betting and leave the table. Had you continued to win, however, you would have incrementally increased your odds bet (lx at a time) whenever your net gain doubled, to as much as the craps table allowed.

Conservative Strategy

Once a new player has gotten used to the game and no longer has trouble following the sequence of playing, it is time for him to graduate from the Simple Strategy described above and start making additional wagers. The next best step is to follow the pass bet with a come bet, both with odds. This is a popular betting combination that is used by many conservative, but skillful and successful players.
You start by making a wager on the pass line just before a new come- out. Once a point is established, you have to make two additional bets:
(1) Take single odds on your pass line bet.
(2) Make a come bet.
The come bet should be for the same amount as your pass wager.
Now the shooter is in the point phase, and if he doesn’t seven-out on the next roll (in which case, you lose your pass bet and win your come bet), you should take single odds on the come bet. You now have two bets working on two different points, each one with odds. If the shooter makes his point on that first point-phase roll, however, you win your pass bet and your come bet is still working. In that case, you should make a new pass-line wager. The idea is to always have a pass-line wager plus one come wager working at all times.
Until you are money ahead, stay with the single odds wagers. If you begin to win steadily, to where your net gain is twice your total bet amount (pass bet with odds plus come bet with odds), start taking double odds. If you keep on winning, increase the odds incrementally to as much as the casino craps table allows.
